WHAT’S SO GOOD ABOUT THAT?
OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS (EPA) – have significant health benefits particularly in reducing cardiac diseases such as arrhythmia, stroke and high blood pressure. Additionally, they have been seen to offer beneficial effects to depression, rheumatoid arthritis and asthma.
BETA CAROTENE – The human body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A (retinol) – beta-carotene is a precursor of vitamin A. We need vitamin A for healthy skin and mucus membranes, our immune system, and good eye health and vision.
AMINO ACIDS- The building blocks of protein. A large proportion of our cells, muscles and tissue is made up of amino acids, meaning they carry out many important bodily functions, such as giving cells their structure. They also play a key role in the transport and the storage of nutrients. Amino acids have an influence on the function of organs, glands, tendons and arteries. They are furthermore essential for healing wounds and repairing tissue, especially in the muscles, bones, skin and hair as well as for the removal of all kinds of waste deposits produced in connection with the metabolism.
PROTEIN – Brain cells, muscle, skin, hair and nails are just some of the body parts that are protein-based. Estimates suggest that about half of the human body’s dry weight is made up of protein. Protein is broken down during digestion to release amino acids, which are the building blocks of all proteins. Once inside the body, these amino acids are used to make new proteins including enzymes and hormones such as adrenalin. Proteins are sometimes also used as an energy source. You need protein in your diet to help your body repair cells and make new ones.
CHLOROPHYLL- contains essential vitamins and nutrients needed for cardiovascular, muscular, and neural health. Chlorophyll promotes quicker healing, hunger/craving suppression, removal of toxins such as heavy metals and has effects on body odour, gas and constipation. Chlorophyll also has benefits in other areas such as swelling, Iron levels and is a great antioxidant.
ASTAXANTHIN – is a powerful antioxidant with broad health implications. Astaxanthin is a potent anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. Astaxanthin can reduce the inflammatory compounds that drive many chronic diseases. Astaxanthin is in a class of its own when it comes to antioxidant coverage, because it filters into every cell of the body. Its unique molecular lipophilic and hydrophilic properties allow it to span the entire cell, with one end of the astaxanthin molecule protecting the fat-soluble part of the cell and one end protecting the water-soluble part of the cell.
Astaxanthin also provides excellent recovery from exercise and can help athletes do their best. Astaxanthin is great for recovery of muscles, better endurance, enhanced strength and improved energy levels.
ALOE VERA – balances the body’s PH levels and is a good source of vitamins and minerals. Aloe Vera also promotes healthy organ function; good digestion and can help decrease irritation in the intestines and stomach. Aloe Vera can help relieve constipation and is a good all-round support for the immune system.
GINGER – has a multitude of health benefits for the body and is good for treating nausea, indigestion and is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Ginger can also help with muscle fatigue, joint pain and reduction of blood sugars. Ginger can enhance cardiovascular circulation—lowering LDL cholesterol in the arteries, stimulating healthy blood flow and giving cells easier access to vitamins, minerals and oxygen.
LEMON – promotes healthy digestion, bowel function and can relieve constipation. Lemon also aids in balancing the body’s PH level and is good for detoxing kidneys and liver.
MINT – is great for digestion and relieving gas, bloating and stomach pain.
ROSEMARY – is a rich source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which boost the immune system and improve blood circulation.
MORINGA – Rich in vitamins & nutrients, a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory Moringa can help with digestive problems. Moringa also has antibiotic and antibacterial properties so is good as a general overall body tonic. Great for helping the body regulate glucose levels and cholesterol.
STAR ANISE – Helpful in relief from digestive problems, nausea and gas and also useful for coughs, particularly harsh, dry coughs.
TURMERIC – Has exceptional Anti-inflammatory/Antioxidant properties, which help to reduce muscle fatigue and damage. Turmeric also helps to boosts the brains natural cognitive functions.
GARLIC – Contains strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic and anti-viral properties. Garlic can also inhibit blood vessel constriction. One study even suggests it can enhance athletic performance by increasing VO2 max. Garlic not only helps reduce blood triglycerides and cholesterol, it can also lessen inflammation. It even counters oxidative stress (damage to blood vessel linings caused by over-reactive oxygen molecules), which puts blood vessels at risk for unwanted clogging.
ECHINACEA – Echinacea is best known for its beneficial effects on the immune system. Numerous studies have found that this plant may help your immune system combat infections and viruses, which could help you recover faster from illness like the flu or common cold. Echinacea is loaded with antioxidants, such as flavonoids, cichoric acid and rosmarinic acid, which may help defend your body against oxidative stress. In addition, studies have linked echinacea and it’s compounds to many health benefits, such as reduced inflammation, improved immunity and lower blood sugar levels.
ELDERBERRY – High in Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, there are many reported benefits of elderberries especially when it comes to fighting cold and flu symptoms, supporting heart health and fighting inflammation and infections. Elderberry extract have also been found to reduce the length and severity of symptoms caused by the influenza virus.
